Chocolate Green Protein Shake

– Use a high-powered blender for best results. I use a Ninja blender.

Ingredients and Directions:

16 - 20 oz. filtered water

2-3 (packed) cups greens like kale or baby kale, spinach, mixed greens, celery (cut up in 3-inch pieces), beet tops, swiss chard, romaine or greens of your choice. I do three large handfuls.

*Blend until greens are completely chopped and blended together.

Add 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (optional)

1 ripe banana (omit if on the healthy ketogenic diet)

or ½ avocado, frozen if available

Serving of protein powder according to package instructions. (I use an organic plant-based protein powder.)

2 tablespoons organic cocoa powder

1-2 tablespoons raw organic honey or dates for sweetness (optional)

Dash of cinnamon (optional)

4 ice cubes if not using frozen fruits

*Blend until all is completely mixed well. Then, enjoy! All those fruits and veggies in one powerful, healthy drink! I drink this in the mornings for breakfast when I’m not fasting. It keeps me energized and satisfied for hours until lunch!

*Pro Tip:

Use prepared green tea instead of the plain filtered water. I steep my green tea in a mason jar in the refrigerator. When the tea is ready, I add one squirt of organic liquid stevia, shaking jar to mix. Then I add this to my blender to get the added benefits of green tea! It’s a win-win!
